Evaluation and Management Code Changes for 2021 Implementation- On-Demand
Description
The American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) Coding and Compliance Committee presents a webinar to share the new Evaluation and Management (E/M) coding guidelines that will be implemented in 2021. The presenters will provide information regarding the revised E/M guideline development process and describe how the changes may apply to both new and established sleep medicine patient visits.

Presenters
H. Thomas Johnson, MD

Dr.  (Tom) H. Thomas Johnson is a pediatric and adult sleep specialist for SSM Health in Saint Louis, MO.  
He is a fellow of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and currently serves on the AASM Coding and Compliance Committee.  He is the director of the SSM Health St. Joseph-St. Charles Pediatric Sleep Center and is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Saint Louis University.   He is board certified in Sleep and Family Medicine.  Dr. Johnson is also pursuing an Executive Healthcare MBA with a planned completion date of May 2021.  

Gabriella de Bruin

Dr. de Bruin is an Associate Professor of Neurology and Vice Chair for Clinical Affairs at The Washington University School of Medicine. Her clinical interests include sleep medicine and patient safety. She regularly attends on the inpatient neurology service at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. When she is not attending on the inpatient service Dr. de Bruin sees patients at the Sleep Medicine Center (located on Brentwood Blvd) and at the Center for Outpatient Health. She is an enthusiastic teacher and enjoys educating medical students, residents, fellows and her patients. Her clinical research interests include identifying diagnostic measures to aid in the early and accurate diagnosis of patients with rapidly progressive dementias and characterizing the spectrum of sleep disorders affecting these patients. 

Jeffrey McGovern, MD

Dr. Jeffrey McGovern, FAASM, FCCP is currently in clinical practice in Erie PA as a pulmonary, critical care and sleep specialist. He completed fellowship at the University of California, Irvine Medical Center in 1996. He has authored numerous articles and received various teaching awards. In addition to his clinical practice, he is involved in many professional and community positions. He is chair of the AASM Coding and Compliance Committee as well as Advisor for the AASM on the Relative Value Committee (AMA). He is President of the Erie County Medical Society and serves on the Regionalization Task Force Subcommittee of the PA Medical Society. He is Specialty Representative and Finance Committee Director for the St. Vincent Medical Board. He is Founder and President of the Erie Catholic Medical Alliance and serves as Chancellor of the Knights of Columbus (Cathedral Chapter).
