The Technology Tuck In: Insomnia Treatments
Description
Insomnia continues to be a common sleep disorder affecting ~10% of adults, with ~20% experiencing occasional insomnia. It is often a chronic condition with a 40% persistence rate over a 5-year period. Members of the Emerging Technology Committee share non-pharmacologic treatments for insomnia. Learn about the types of devices, nearables, wearables, and digital CBT-I options for the treatment of insomnia, particularly for your patients who have questions or desire treatments beyond or instead of traditional CBT-I or hypnotic medications.
Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

1. Explore the array of digital CBT-I options, sleep tracking apps/wearables/ nearables, and other insomnia-related tracking and treatment technologies
2. Describe how different insomnia technologies work
3. Assess which sleep technology may be right for individual patients
