This course reviews the latest research, complexities and predictors of Positive Airway Pressure (PAP) non-adherence and provides approaches and early interventions to improve adherence. It includes knowledge checks to confirm what you have learned and three patient scenarios for you to explore how your decisions affect patients in a clinical setting.
By the end of this module, the learner should be able to:
  • Describe the scope and impact of untreated obstructive sleep apnea (OSA).
  • Summarize current research findings on PAP nonadherence.
  • Identify common and complex factors that contribute to PAP nonadherence.
  • Apply behavioral strategies to promote adherence to PAP therapy.
  • Evaluate real-world case studies to tailor interventions to individual patient needs and outcomes.
