AASMF Grand Rounds: Determinants of Occlusal Changes in Oral Appliance Treatment of OSA – A Randomized Controlled Trial
Description
This grand rounds series will feature AASM Foundation-funded work related to improving patient care and sleep health awareness. Learners should attend the seminar series to understand practice and sleep health gaps, and how the AASM Foundation-funded work addressed those gaps through project findings. Objectives of the presentations will be to disseminate knowledge, potentially change practitioner behavior, and improve patient outcomes.
Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
  1. Explain what are the negative side effects of OA treatment​.

  2. Review the clinical trial.​

  3. Discuss the year one results.

Presenter

Benjamin Pliska, DDS, MS, FRCD(C)

Dr. Benjamin Pliska is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario School of Dentistry and completed his graduate Orthodontic training at the University of Minnesota. He is an Associate Professor of the University of British Columbia Faculty of Dentistry, an Orthodontic Consultant at British Columbia’s Children’s Hospital, and maintains a private practice in Vancouver as a certified specialist in Orthodontics. Dr. Pliska’s research interests include craniofacial imaging and sleep medicine.
