JCSM Manuscript Review
Description

CME credit is available based on a learner’s participation in a manuscript’s pre-publication review process. Physicians may claim CME credit for a maximum of five (5) reviews per calendar year. Only reviews received on time and judged as satisfactory by the Editor (either the Editor-in-Chief, Deputy Editor or Associate Editor) responsible for the manuscript will be eligible for CME credit.

The AASM designates each manuscript review activity for a maximum of 3.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.

Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of a thorough review of a submitted manuscript and associated literature, participants should be able to:

  • Integrate new discoveries or observations in the field of sleep medicine that will improve performance in practice
  • Critically analyze medical literature, current issues, multidisciplinary patient care, and practice management in the field of sleep medicine
  • Evaluate how a research question or investigational clinical application is formulated and articulated in a proposed manuscript
  • Synthesize the literature with a thorough review of the proposed manuscript thereby identifying its strengths and weaknesses prior to publication
